In Topic: Are Sun newspapers trying to drive readers away?

If anyone reads the Sun online, they've probably noticed this "SUN+" thing they're doing where it counts how many articles you've read. Once you get to 20, you're now blocked from reading further articles for a month. Unless, that is, you want to sign up for a subscription. To a website.
Interesting, I haven't noticed that SUN+ stuff in my browser. You mean they count all the articles you have read in your online life, or just 20 a month? 20 a week, a day?

In Topic: Thoughts on the CT Tragedy

As we all should know, there are no easy answers to the awful tragedy on Friday. Politicians preach easy "answers" such as gun control.
Gun control is not the solution here. The gun was legally purchased by the gunman's slain mother. Locking up and controlling each gun is impossible and people like Adam Lanza will find a way to get a hold of something lethal. We need This should be done by people acting as a civil society. Not forced by the government.

We learned that in Newtown, Connecticut.
You're 100pct right.
People in the far South call fell-good solutions "selling the sofa" after an old joke of a husband who got home from work only to find his wife having sex with another man on the sofa. He solved the problem: he sold the sofa. Probably what Obama and the liberals are going to do is the same thing: banning assault weapons or all weapons altogether (selling the sofa).
Gun control wilm solve nothing. I remember Ted Bundy, who killed a lot of young women without firing a shot. He used pipes, bats, etc. And Jeffrey Dahmer didn't own a gun. He strangled a bunch of young homosexuals, luring them with the promise of perverted sex acts.
The Second Amendment has been in force for more than 200 yrs, but Jesse James didn't commit any school massacre. The Younger brothers, Billy the Kid didn't shoot parishioners attending church. In Chicago, Al Capone, Bugsy Siegel et al. didn't start any shootouts in theatres to kill innocents. Something else must have gone wrong. That something else is taking God out of our lives, teaching the young generation that there's no God, no afterlife; that we come from nowhere and go to nowhere.
It's time for America -and Canada, BTW- to reconsider its ways.
What America needs is not gun control, but "heart control", turning again to God. As someone said, we don't have too many guns in our hands; what we have is too little repentance in our hearts.

What does this chief plan to acomplish through these meetings other than ruining his reputation and utterly discrediting First Nations' political efforts in the process?
He will probably become a Muslim in the process. Since Muslims must sport a beard, I suggest he buys a Santa beard these days with a Christmas discount at Dollarama or Dollarthèque.

Joahob, as I said before, I find this idea extremely interesting.
Besides, after considering what's going on in some republics, I have seen my interest in monarchy revive.
We in BC should contribute to the marketing of the United Commonwealth.
